The images in this Artful Forms Gallery capture natural and manmade geometric patterns and designs seen in the world around us. Many images in this Gallery do not necessarily try to replicate reality. Instead, they achieve their impact, or their appeal, by how the shapes, colors and lines work together. A good example of something real, which looks like an abstract – all lines, patterns and colors – is the image captioned “Fractured Paint.” A different example is the image captioned “Rust and Dripping Paint on Metal” which is nothing more than old drippy paint on rusting metal which looks like a snow-capped mountain, blue sky and brown vegetation!
Other images in this Gallery are pretentious and “arty,” designed to show the photographer has an interest in art. A good example of something artsy is the image captioned “Human Form With Shadows” showing a nude female form (a classic art subject!) in a dramatic pose and covered in striking shadows. And other images just display pleasing shapes and geometries.
